REENFORCE at the event "Colletotrichum: Modern Challenges and Management Strategies"!
Kyparissia, Greece, 18 July 2026. The Agricultural University of Athens (AUA), a partner in the Horizon Europe project REENFORCE, presented the project at a trade show in Kyparissia. Around 80 participants attended.
The presentation was titled "Colletotrichum: Modern Challenges and Management Strategies". It addressed Colletotrichum, a group of fungal pathogens that remains a significant challenge for crop production, and the approaches available for managing it. The talk showed how research can support more sustainable crop protection in practice.
The audience included members of the research community, but the event mainly reached citizens, many of whom were hearing about REENFORCE for the first time. Informing a new, non-specialist audience about the project was the main goal of AUA's participation.
"Reaching beyond the research community is an important part of what REENFORCE sets out to do," the project team noted. Making crop protection research understandable to the wider public helps build awareness of why sustainable approaches matter for agriculture and for society.
