On 17 April 2026, the University of Coimbra represented the REENFORCE project at the 4th session of the Ciclo de Palestras "Cultivar o Futuro: Soluções Sustentáveis para a Agricultura", held at the Cantanhede Winery in Cantanhede, Portugal.

The event brought together an audience of 30 to 40 participants, including industry and business partners as well as national authorities, all united by a shared interest in the future of sustainable agriculture.

Presenting REENFORCE to the Vineyard Community

The University of Coimbra team delivered an oral communication entitled "Projeto REENFORCE: Capacitar agricultores para inovar na proteção da vinha — Soluções sustentáveis e práticas". The presentation introduced the REENFORCE project to a new audience, highlighting its three core research pillars — bio-based and low-risk crop protection solutions, ecotoxicological assessment, and smart spraying technologies — and how these translate into concrete tools and knowledge for farmers working in viticulture and other key agricultural sectors.

The session underscored REENFORCE's commitment to bridging the gap between European research and the day-to-day realities of farming, ensuring that scientific advances reach the people who need them most: the farmers and agronomists working in the field.

Building Synergies with SYBERAC

Beyond the presentation itself, the event served as an important opportunity to strengthen the collaboration between REENFORCE and the SYBERAC project, another EU-funded initiative focused on protecting vineyards while preserving their natural allies. The exchange of knowledge and experience between the two projects reinforces the broader European network of research initiatives working towards a greener and more resilient crop protection sector.
