A long-standing forum for crop protection science

The International Symposium on Crop Protection is an established meeting point for researchers and professionals working on the protection of crops. Its long tradition and its mix of academic and applied participants made it a good setting for presenting REENFORCE to the people who work on the challenges the project addresses.

Presenting the REENFORCE vision

The poster gave attendees an overview of REENFORCE and its aim of strengthening excellence in sustainable crop protection. Its presence in the symposium programme allowed the project to reach colleagues in research and representatives of industry and business who may not yet have been familiar with its work.

The poster format encouraged direct conversation. Participants could ask about the project, discuss how it relates to their own activities and consider possible links with their own work.

Reaching new audiences

The main aim of the presentation was to inform a new audience about REENFORCE, including citizens and businesspeople. Sustainable crop protection affects the agri-food sector, its supply chains and society as a whole. Reaching audiences beyond the academic community is therefore an important part of the project's communication and dissemination efforts.

By presenting at an event that brings together research and industry participants, REENFORCE helped raise awareness of its objectives. It also opened the way for future exchanges with stakeholders who share an interest in sustainable crop protection.
